May is Mental Health Month: Light Up Green

Santa Barbara County will again be participating in the National Light Up Green campaign in recognition of 2026 May as Mental Health Awareness Month.  Will your buildings be participating this year?

About the Light up Green campaign:

Buildings throughout Santa Barbara County will be joining buildings across the U.S. in lighting up green during Mental Health Month in May, to help spread awareness. If your building(s) is(are) planning to light up green in May, please let us know the name of your building that will be lit by emailing Suzanne Grimmesey at suzkirk@sbcbwell.org or Jenny Bruell at jbruell@sbcbwell.org.

Buildings lighting up green will receive lawn signs (images attached) to display throughout May, and your building will be placed on the state list where participating buildings will be recognized by the National Mental Health America office.  To be recognized by the National office, please let us know your building name and address by April 9, 2026.

As Behavioral Health Ambassadors within the community, you play an enormous role in helping to break the stigma of mental illness, promote conversations and help those needing support to reach out. Please help spread the word so we can get as many buildings as possible to Light up Green during the month of May as a huge community effort to raise mental health awareness throughout the county.
